Book Clubs

Make reading social by joining one of our amazing book clubs! You do not have to be a library card member in order to attend club meetings, but you do need a library card to borrow a copy from the library. View our Calendar for upcoming events.

Read Between the Pines (RBtP): This group usually meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. at the new Southern Pines Fire Station. 

Douglass Center Book Club (DCBC): This group usually meets the third Thursday of the month at 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the Douglass Community Center. 

Explorations

An ongoing lecture and discussion series for adults held the second Sunday of the month from 3 - 4 p.m. Topics of discussion include health, technology, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Conversation Café, our program fostering respectful dialog within our community, is held quarterly. View our Calendar for upcoming events.

Writer's Group

Writers and illustrators of all writing styles are welcome to attend a writer's workshop held the first Sunday of the month from 3 - 4 p.m. Connect with other writers and artists, chat about your craft, and get feedback on your work. View our Calendar for upcoming events.

Services

Mobile Printing 

Use your personal computer or mobile device from anywhere to print directly to the library’s printers. Once documents are submitted, come to the library during operational hours to release, pay, and print your documents. 

Book Club Kits 

Book club kits may be borrowed from the library. Each kit contains 10 copies of the book and a discussion guide. Kits check out for a six week period with no renewals to one SPPL library card member. Learn more about the checkout policies and procedures.

Free Tax Help

Beginning February 1st, AARP trained volunteers will assist middle and low-income seniors with filing their tax returns. This service is free. Sessions will be held every Saturday and Monday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM until April 13th. Help is available on a first-come, first serve basis.
